About Bangalore University:

Bangalore University was established by the British Government in 1886 as the Central College, a subsidiary of the Mysore University. It was renamed as Bangalore University in July 1964 as a fully fledged State University and operates from two campuses – the Central College Campus, and the Jnanabharathi Campus located at Kengeri.

The University is accredited with a five star status, with Potential for Excellence, by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council of the University Grants Commission, a position reserved for the top ten Universities in the Country. Many of its Departments are identified by UGC as Centers of Excellence.

The University was started so as to include institutions of higher education located in the Bangalore City, Bangalore Rural and the Kolar and Tumkur Districts. The University has grown manifold in terms of size and strength as more than 600 colleges are affiliated to it. It not only caters to the educational needs of Bangalore and the state of Karnataka, but has opened its doors to all Indian nationals and foreign students. Because of this, the University has acquired a good reputation in India as well as among foreign students. The University offers Under-graduate, Post-graduate and Doctoral Programmes under Arts, Science and Commerce faculties.

BACHELOR OF COMMERCE:
