Eligibility and Admission Procedure:

Admissions to the first year of the 3-year LL.B. course, in all colleges under the jurisdiction of Karnataka State Law University, is strictly based on merit, based on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination.

To be eligible for admission in the 3-year LL.B. course, the candidate should:

Have graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent national institution recognised as a Deemed to be University or Foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for three-year degree course in law leading to the conferment of LL.B. degree on successful completion of the regular programme conducted under these Regulations.

No Age Criteria for LLB 3years.

Have secured marks, which shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.

Intake and Reservation:

The intake in all colleges and department of studies in law, under the jurisdiction of Karnataka State Law University, shall be 60. The University shall reserve the right to prescribe the number of divisions in each Law College or the Department of Studies in Law. While admitting candidates to the course, reservation policy of the Government of Karnataka governing admission to higher educational institutions issued from time to time shall be applied.

Fee Structure

A candidate seeking admission to the three-Year LL.B. degree course and those admitted to such course shall pay the tuition and other fees as prescribed by the institution from time to time.

Admission Procedure

Preferred mode of admission is through CLAT (www.clat.ac.in). Candidates selected through CLAT will need to apply before 15th July 2015. Applications are also invited from other merited candidates.

B.A. LL.B and B.B.A. LL.B:

Eligibility: PUC / 10+2 or equivalent with 45% marks and 40% marks for SC / ST candidates only.

B.B.A. LL.B. and B.A. LL.B:

1. SSLC/10th and PUC/12th Original marks statements & 2 sets of photocopies

Rules for Admission:

A student with PUC or equivalent of 10+2 Standard qualification with minimum marks of 45% is eligible for applying for B.A. LL.B & B.B.A. LL.B., Course.

i. Original Marks card and other certificates required should be produced at the time of admission failing which application is liable to be rejected.

ii. The applicant should retain sufficient number of photocopies of marks cards for enclosing the same with examination applications or for any other purpose. Original Mark cards will be sent to the University for approval of their admission and will be returned only after they are returned by the university.

iii. The attested copies of the required certificates should be attached to the applications for admission.

Eligibility Criteria (Indian Nationals)

The candidate shall submit an Eligibility Certificate from the Karnataka State Law University to the college before admission. For details as to application for Eligibility Certificate, visit www.kslu.ac.in.

Karnataka Category To claim Karnataka Category fee, the candidates should have studied previous 7 years in Karnataka (Not applicable for OCI, PIO & Foreign Nationals) The candidate who has successfully completed Pre-University course or Senior Secondary School course (‘+2′) or equivalent such as (11+1, ‘A’ level in Senior School Leaving Certificate course) from a recognized University of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by the State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the course. Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in case of general category applicants and minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 40% (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) of total marks in case of SC/ST applicants.

Eligibility Criteria (NRIs & INTERNATATIONAL STUDENTS)

Students who fall under any of the following classifications, at the time of application can apply under NRI Student category and be required to pay the fees applicable for the category for the entire duration of the course.

1. NRI defined under the Indian Income Tax Law

2. Either of the parents is outside India (except Nepal) on Work Permit/Resident Permit

3. NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the course for candidates who have pursued and completed their last qualifying exam from Outside India.


Admission to all courses is based on academic achievement and NAGLS Selection Process. Provisional Admission will be given to students based on predicted grades along with the transcript detailing percentage equivalence from the school last attended. Candidates should submit the final results of class 12 on or before July 31st of the admission year. Candidates applying under International Student and NRI Student Category must follow the steps below to process and apply the online application form:

1. Application fee of 50 USD or equivalent in INR via Demand Draft (Non refundable) favouring “N.A Educational Trust” payable ONLY at “Bangalore”.

2. A valid email ID for further communication

3. Copy of statement of marks of Class 10/X, Class 11/XI and Class 12/XII (if result awaited, marks available currently) if applying to UG Programme.

4. Copy of statement of marks of X, XII and Degree (if result awaited, marks available currently)

if applying to PG Programme

5. Scanned copy of Passport, scanned copy of photo, TC and mark statement. Eligibility Criteria (Foreign Nationals) One who falls under at least one of the following categories can apply only under International Student Category.

i. Foreign citizens

ii. PIO card holders and

iii. OCI (Dual Citizens)


N.A Global Law School welcomes all Foreign Nationals including International Baccalaureate® (IB) students to apply to our undergraduate programmes. Admission to all programmes is based on academic achievement and NAGLS Selection Process. International students coming from Non-English speaking countries should:


1. Produce evidence of passing the qualifying examination in English medium

2. Have IELTS 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5 or TOEFL (paper) 550, TOEFL

(Computer) of 213 or TOEFL (IBT) of 79 scores Candidates without the above pre-qualifications will have to enrol for Intensive English Language Course (Full Time) conducted from March to May of every year. Note: The International Student category fee structure is binding for the full duration of the course.

Candidates from the above listed categories, even with Indian Educational qualification and who may apply under the Indian States Category will have to pay the International Student Category Fee.
